Final Refletion

So I had a successful project. I got everything done that I had to get done and I got it done so that I liked the end result. I really liked the website; it looks good and does great things. iWeb was great to work with and really smooth. The only problems I had were to publish the website, and even that got fixed after a youtube video. I also liked the project itself. It was really interesting to learn about the emerging technology.

This lesson I finished off the website completely. All I had to do was publish it. This was done quickly. I used iWeb and dropbox to publish the website, then dot TK to change the URL of it. I did not have any problems with it so I was happy when I was done. THe URL is ourtouchscreen.tk

This lesson I finished another device description which was quite good. I will have to turn in the website by tomorrow, not enough time in my opinion. Many people are not yet finished with their projects, especially the video people. Many people use the iMacs and mac programs to make their projects. As an example, I am using iWeb to make the website, my friend uses iMovie to make his video. These programs are only available on Macs, thus making the work at home very hard. This makes it hard do something other than class unless you have a mac which no one has. I will try to make the rest of the information at home. But I have another problem: I want to improve the homepage, which is impossible when you cannot use the machine with the right programs. I will do my best to finish the project on time but there are no guarantees...

9th March. 2010

Today I had another very productive double lesson. I finished another description and had tome to start another and almost complete it. This is good because I will only have one more week to finish the website. I will really have to work to finish the website. I will now have to finish the last few descriptions, improve the home page and then add the video once it is made by Hamdan. We have actually had some problems on the video because the MacBook Pro we are using had some technical difficulty; the fan messed up. We then had to send it in to apple for them to repair. This meant a delay in the work. Luckily, we got a replacement and had everything backed up so we could just continue with the work.

Today I had a very productive lesson. I finished a big part in my website. This was the first escription of devices with touch-screens. This took me the whole lesson, searching for the information and finding pictures that suited the part. I got everything to work easily. I had no problems of any kkind since it was only typing and internet research. The next thing I will do is finish the rest of the devices and edit the homeage; it is very dull!!!

2nd March, 2010

Today, I finally had time to start my own project. I finished the design and found the information and started writing abou the touchscreen technoogies there are. I got a lot done, finishing 5 technologies. It worked pretty well finding all the info. One problem was that I found out about many more kinds than I knew there was. This confused me a bit so I had to choose which one I should have in my website. So what I decided to do was add in all the technologies, that were very different to the rest of the technologies. This worked out pretty well. I think that if I get a bit mre time, I can finish the project easily.

1st March, 2010

Today I continued helping Hamdan make his script. We have scheduled to make the video tody after school. The script is almost ready so we can do the video straight away. I will have to do the research for the devices at home or I won't have enough time.

So today we filmed the video. It worked out pretty well and all that remains is to see if the green screen worked out. I think it was very good to do the video today after school because it was quiet and there was a lot of time so we could take things slowly. So if everything works ot, we can finish the editing and rendering soon and the video will be finished.

23rd February, 2010

Today, I helped Hamdan with his project. I wanted to start mine but since Hamdan has a lot of editing to be done, I wanted to help him make the video first and then start my project. We now have a good plan on what we will say and also have part of the script. All that remains is finishing the script, finding a location to film and filming. After that, we will start editing the video and we'll be done in no time. Next lesson I will start doing my plan, finish the design and finish the research. I will maybe start researching a home over the weekend since there are no lessons this week. We really need to get the video out of the way. It takes the longest time to work on with all the editing. 22nd February, 2010 - Starting the Create Stage

Today we turned in our plans and are now starting the create stage. This includes starting the process journal. I am going to make a video about the use of touch-screens in technology and how it is useful in school. This website is going to be made on iWeb. On the Website, I am going to have useful information about the technologies, about the kinds of touch-screens and about the application in school life.

Our group consists of the following members:

Ali - Lesson

Felix - Website/Public Relations

This group is able to produce very good products and finish the project within the given time. The whole project has to be done by March 4th, a close deadline but I am very confident that I am able to make it. What I am a little bit worried about is the video that Hamdan is making. The bar is set very high and he wants to add in a lot of features that are both time consuming and very hard to make. This video will also be on the website and I am not sure if we will be able to add it in on time.

My plan works as follows:

1. Finish the design so that everything fits the way I want it to

2. Find all the information

3. Convert the information to text

4. Add the text to the design

5. Find Pictures

6. Add in the pictures

7. Add in the Video

8. Receive feedback - this will happen throughout the whole project

9. Improve it - this will happen throughout the whole project

10. Publish it

11. Present it!!!

But otherwise, I am confident about the project and that we will be able to finish it off.

19th January, 2010 - First Groups

Today we made our groups. I am in a group with Hamdan and Ali and we are doing our project about touch screens. This includes iTouch, iPhone, iSlate, Microsoft Surface and other touch screens in phones, laptops and gaming consoles. Rami might also join if all the people come. I am in charge of Public Relations and the website. Hamdan makes a video and the presentation. Ali makes the teaching plan. I think that our group is able of producing a very good project if they all concentrate
